  • NASE Applauds New Home-Office Bill Designed to Help Small Business Owners Succeed

    WASHINGTON, DC – The National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation’s leading advocate and resource for self-employed and micro-businesses, today applauded the introduction of legislation that addresses address the needs of the small business owner and childcare. The Working Parents Home Office Act, introduced today by U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), allows working parents to deduct incidental use for childcare provided while the taxpayer is using a home office space for their business.

  • Small Business Groups Send Joint Letter to D.C. City Council Opposing New Health Care Tax Passed Last Month

    Following-up on last month’s D.C. City Council’s passage of a 1% health care tax, small business groups led by the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation’s leading advocate and resource for self-employed and micro-businesses, today submitted an official letter to the D.C. City Council opposing the new tax. Passed unanimously in a vote on May 6th, 2014, PR20-0744 – Health Benefit Exchange Authority Financial Sustainability Emergency Declaration Resolution of 2014 – would leverage a 1% tax on all health-insurance carriers with gross receipts of $50,000 or more within the District of Columbia. The small business groups signing the letter with NASE include the American Independent Business Coalition and the Southern Consumers Alliance.
