15 Small Business Owners from Across the Country Selected to Serve on National Association’s 2013 Member Council

National Association for the Self-Employed Launches Small Business Locator to Connect Customers with over 2,000

of America’s Smallest Businesses  

WASHINGTON – Today, the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE) – the nation’s leading resource for the self-employed and micro-businesses – announced the selection of their 2013 Member Council.  The 15 new members, small business owners representing a diverse range of businesses from all across the country, will help provide leadership to the national organization by sharing their unique insights and experiences to help guide the association in new initiatives and programs. 

“We could not have made it over 30 years without the dedication and unique insights of our members, represented in part by these 15 small business owners selected for this year’s Member Council,” said Kristie Arslan, President and CEO of National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE).  “Our 2013 Member Council will work with NASE staff – offering ideas and feedback – on new initiatives to not only help our members get the most from their membership, but also provide antidotal illustrations of the policies we advocate for and advance to support the needs of America’s smallest businesses.”

The NASE also launched its Small Business Locator, helping to connect customers with services they need that are provided by our nation’s small businesses. This online network allows our members and the public to locate, collaborate and engage with each other to foster their professional needs. This includes the NASE 2013 Member Council businesses, along with over 2,000 small, local businesses.  Find the services you need and select the category to search for a local business that matches your exact needs.  By supporting small business, help drive America's economy and its economic recovery.  

The NASE Member Council works with association staff in a collaborative, as well as advisory, capacity to offer feedback on association programs and efforts.   The 2013 NASE Member Council will assist with the development of new initiatives to support other small-business owners, including helping to launch localized “meet-ups” across the country.  Council Members will act as ambassadors for the NASE in their local communities and take lead on events and outreach related to the association.
