NASE Urges Senate Action on Nominees

On Thursday, August 3, the NASE along with 90 other business organizations urged Leader McConnell and Minority Leader Schumer "to take expeditious steps to ensure the timely confirmation of qualified pending nominees to administration positions."

The slow pace of confirming the Administration nominees has hobbled agencies and in many cases, deprived independent agencies the quorum necessary to conduct business.

The letter concludes with requesting that the Senate, "immediately resume the prior practices of deferring to the vetting of nominees conducted by the committees of jurisdiction, confirming non-controversial nominees expeditiously by voice vote or unanimous consent, and the spare use of forcing cloture on nominees."
