In the last week much attention has been given to the electoral college, reminding folks that the President is selected not by popular vote but a weighed system, to "win" the election you must receive 270 electoral college votes. There is a narrow chance of a tie, 269-269, throwing the contest to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Given all of the talk of a Governor Romney surge, Real Clear Politics has a new electoral college map showing President Obama reaching the 270 threshold and Governor Romney falling short by 17. However, what the map does show is the likely chance Governor Romney could win the popular vote while losing the electoral college, ala 2000.
