NASE Sponsors National Small Business Week with Small Business Administration to Help Entrepreneurs Start, Grow and Succeed

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation’s leading advocate and resource for self-employed and micro-businesses, today salutes America’s nearly 27 million smallest businesses for their contributions to our national and local economies during this week’s National Small Business Week. The NASE is a proud sponsor of the week long effort, lead by The Small Business Administration (SBA), who is holding events around the country to showcase the power and influence of America’s small business community.

“America’s smallest businesses, the self-employed and micro-businesses, are the heart of our country’s small business community,” said Katie Vlietstra, Vice President for Government Relations and Public Affairs. “From mom-and-pop small businesses to sole proprietors, they provide the fuel for our nation’s economic engine. With over 75 percent of the small business community containing either just a sole proprietor or small employers with up to 9 employees, the NASE applauds the contributions of this important and unique demographic.  We welcome and encourage those brave and courageous individuals making their path towards self-employment.”

Vlietstra continued, “We stand proud at NASE to sponsor the SBA’s national effort devoted to our small business community.  It is important that we help these new and existing entrepreneurs grow and succeed from financial and training support on main street to policymaking in Congress when it comes to tax parity, Health Reimbursement Account reform, and other growth opportunities.”

The NASE has incorporated its Small Business Locator onto its website, helping to connect customers with services they need that are provided by our nation’s small businesses. This online network allows our members and the public to locate, collaborate and engage with each other to foster their professional needs.
