National Association for the Self-Employed Awards Second-Quarter Small Business Growth Grants

Florida, Ohio and Virginia Small Businesses Recipients of $12k in Grants to Expand and Grow Operations  

                                                        

DALLAS, TX – Three small businesses have been awarded $12,000 in Growth Grants from the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation’s leading advocate and resource for the self-employed and micro-business community.  Earlier this year, NASE announced they would be expanding their Growth Grant program to award over $48,000 in small business grants in 2015, an increase from the $20,000 awarded in 2014. 

“We are proud to announce our second quarter growth grant awards totaling $12,000 in Growth Grants to three of our small business members from across the country,” said John Hearrell, Vice President of Membership and Affiliate Programs.  “It is critical for us to support and recognize small business owners and sole proprietors who are exemplifying America’s entrepreneurial spirit.  The awarding of these grants signifies our belief in these small businesses and we look forward to watching them make the critical investments needed to grow and expand.”  

The recipients of the 2015 second-quarter NASE Growth Grants are:

Ernesto Dominguez, the owner of The Senior Club and an NASE Member from Miami, Florida, started his business in 2012.Since starting The Senior Club, Mr. Dominguez has focused his business on improving the overall health and well being to the seniors in his care.  The Senior Club Professional Advanced Adult Day Care is a safe and secure setting for elderly loved ones. Parents or Grandparents enjoy participating in recreational activities, engaging in new hobbies, and even finding new friends during their golden years. 

With this grant, The Senior Club plans to expand and renovate the center.

Brooke Kinsey, the owner of Bleu & Fig and an NASE Member from Columbus, Ohio, is also a chef trained at Johnson and Wales University in Virginia.Bleu & Fig is a full service boutique catering and design company with a fresh and sophisticated take on celebrations.Bleu & Fig’s motto is “Food, Flowers, Flair” and is a company that believes food should be entertainment unto itself. Combining exquisite food, excellent service and flawless execution is what makes Bleu & Fig unique. 

Bleu & Fig will be using their Growth Grant to help pay for an event hall so the business can host events at their brick and mortar location.

Shaquille Pariag, is the part of the team at Clairvoyance and is an NASE Member from Reston, Virginia.  Clairvoyance is a strategic consulting and business development firm that provides graphic and web design services, marketing, audio/video production, and business development services.   The firm’s mission is to provide comprehensive professional services to their clients. 

Clairvoyance will be using the grant to purchase new equipment for the business to better serve their clients.

Since 2006, the NASE has awarded over half a million dollars to members through the Growth Grant program by providing small business grants.  NASE’s Growth Grant program is intended for businesses planning to take the next step in their venture.  It provides available capital for small businesses and sole proprietors to be able to hire and train additional employees, market their business in new and existing ways or invest in new equipment or software. 

Applications for the NASE’s 2015 Growth Grant program are currently being accepted from now through December 10th, 2015.  Applications are considered on a rolling basis throughout the year and winning small businesses will be awarded $4,000 grants monthly throughout 2015.  Visit the Growth Grant page for more information.
