NASE Calls on Senate to Support S. 2231, Credit Union Member Business Lending Bill

In support of National Small Business Week, the NASE, calls on the Senate to address continued challenges faced by budding entrepreneurs and established businesses in their quest for access to capital.  The NASE supports S. 2231, The Credit Union Member Business Lending Bill, among other initiatives to stimulate the lending market specifically for the self-employed/small business community.

Credit Union Lending Statement of Support

---

Dear Mr. President, Senators and Members of Congress:

Credit continues to be a problem for businesses of all sizes - businesses which create jobs. We would
like to suggest a step that could inject up to $13 billion into the economy – at no cost to taxpayers.

• Credit unions continue to lend even when banks have cut back;
• Credit unions play a vital role in providing capital to underserved communities and small
businesses; and,
• Credit unions understand the special needs of their business members and can make loans that banks will not.
