NASE Applauds Efforts to Place America’s Small Business Community on “Equal Playing Field” with Corporate Counterparts

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In response to President Trump’s release today of his tax reform proposal, Keith Hall, President and CEO of the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation's leading resource for the self-employed and micro-businesses, released the following statement:

“We applaud President Trump’s efforts today to simplify the tax system by lowering the burden on America’s 27 million smallest businesses, who are led by sole-proprietors, along with giving them parity in the tax code alongside their corporate counterparts.

 "Any tax plan that proposes a reduction in the corporate rate should also include a reduction in the individual rate, which is where the majority of the self-employed file their returns. We support efforts to treat America’s small business community just as their corporate counterparts and that requires an equal playing field when it comes to our tax system. 

“The NASE looks forward to working with President Trump and Congress to ensure equity in our tax system and the lowering of a tax rate to help foster growth and investment in America’s entrepreneurs.”
