Teens See Entrepreneurship In Their Future

Sep 24, 2009
Posted by Molly Nelson - Although the NASE has been investing in the future of entrepreneurship for two decades through its scholarship program, it is exciting to hear that many teenagers dream of starting their own business.

Jeff Cornwall's Entrepreneurial Mind blog cites a survey of teens with some results that should make all of us hopeful for the next generation of entrepreneurs:
  • 92 percent think that entrepreneurial skills should be taught in school
  • 51 percent are interested in starting their own companies
  • 23 percent of teens who want to start a business said they were interested in starting a business that "helps the environment" or that "deals with the problems or challenges of our society"
