Summer Jobs

Jun 09, 2010
Posted by Molly Nelson - With the summer job market for teens looking bleak, are you encouraging your child to follow in your footsteps and start their own business?

Entrepreneur's Daily Dose argues that it may be time for kids starting their own business (and their parents) to look beyond the lemonade stand. The article suggests pet sitting, lawn care and social media consulting as better (ok, more profitable) alternatives.

Would you encourage a child starting a business to go with an old standby, or to try something different as Daily Dose suggests? Share a story of a favorite summer job in the comments!
