Small Biz News Roundup

Sep 14, 2012

Posted by Kristin Oberlander - A lot happened this week, mostly in the financial arena (with the Fed announcing QE3) and in foreign policy, with the unfortunate events that took place at the embassy outpost in Libya. However there were a few other noteables that I've mentioned below. Please read and, if you like, share.

  • Small-business groups are pressuring Congress to take up legislative tax policy, so that the climate for business owners will be less fiscally uncertain. The NASE started its own 13 Work Days campaign to encourage Congress to address self-employed issues before adjourning until the November election.
  • Video of a small-business owner who is frustrated by tax hardships that big business doesn't have to experience.
  • In a new study, 74% of business owners found networking online more valuable than networking in person. Do you agree?
  • If you use Twitter, there's a fine line between making sure your content is seen and annoying your followers with too many repeat tweets.
  • Where does the U.S stand when it comes to our debt after being downgraded last year?
  • A frivolous link to spoiler chats on Glee and the Good Wife, because I'm just beside myself with excitement that the fall television season is starting.
