Small Businesses in New York, Utah and Washington are Awarded Grants to Help Expand and Grow Operations

DALLAS, TX – Three small businesses have been awarded a total of $12,000 in Growth Grants from the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation’s leading advocate and resource for the self-employed and micro-business community.  These small businesses were announced as the fourth quarter 2018 Growth Grant recipients.  In 2018, NASE handed out a total of $48,000 in grants to small businesses from across the country.

“Our nation’s small business community, including the self-employed and micro-businesses, help fuel the economic engine of our national economy,” said John Hearrell, Vice President of Membership and Affiliate Programs.  “On each side of main street from every corner of America, small businesses are delivering unique goods and services to their customers. Since 1989, our mission is built on the cornerstone of supporting these businesses to grow and thrive.  It’s an honor to make an investment of $4,000 in each of these Growth Grant recipients, bringing our total grant awards to date to nearly $1,000,000 since the program’s inception.”

The recipients of the fourth quarter 2018 NASE Growth Grants are:
 - Translations Pro is located in Astoria, New York and is owned by NASE member Laszlo Bochkor. Translations Pro is a diversified language solutions enterprise, setting the standards in the language services industry, ready to meet the evolving needs of any business.
 - Wasatch Nectar is located in Salt Lake City, Utah and is owned by NASE member Kristen Moffatt.   Wasatch Nectar uses only raw honey sourced locally from the Wasatch Mountain Range in Utah with naturally derived electrolytes to provide athletes the energy and nutrition they need.
 - EMC Nursing Services is located in Everett, Washington and is owned by NASE member Erin Chaney.   EMC Nursing Services provides functional assessments and nurse delegation services for adult family homes (AFH) in the community.

For nearly 20 years, NASE’s focus has been on finding the most effective way to bolster success for small business and self-employed members in communities across the country.  NASE has awarded nearly $1,000,000 since the program’s inception and continue to see significant return on our investments in the growth of member-businesses helping to fuel their local economies.

NASE’s Growth Grant program is intended for businesses planning to take the next step in their venture.  It provides available capital for small businesses and sole proprietors to be able to hire and train additional employees, market their business in new and existing ways or invest in new equipment or software.
