STATEMENT ON THE RESIGNATION OF SBA ADMINISTRATOR KAREN MILLS
Strong Advocate for America's Small Businesses Departs After 4 Strong Years

Washington —With yesterday's announcement that SBA Administrator Karen Mills will resign her position once a replacement has been confirmed, Kristie Arslan, President & CEO of the National Association for the Self-Employed, released this comment:

“On behalf of the 22 million self-employed, I would like to thank Administrator Mills for her service to the Small Business community over the past four years.  During the 2010 Small Business Jobs Bill debate, we worked closely with the Administrator, her staff, and Congressional leaders to put together a strong legislative package that would support and help grow America’s small business.  The expansion of the SBA loan program and continued efforts to increase access to government contracting for small businesses speaks to the commitment the Administrator has shown in demonstrating the economic growth potential of the small business community.  We look forward to the President nominating a qualified and passionate advocate to follow in Administrator Mill’s foot-steps.”
