WASHINGTON, D.C. – Katie Vlietstra, Vice President for Government Relations and Public Affairs at the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation’s leading advocate and resource for the self-employed and micro-businesses, today released the following statement on President-elect Donald Trump’s selection of Linda McMahon as Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA).

“America’s small business community, including the over 23 million self-employed entrepreneurs who work tireless each day to achieve the American Dream, desperately need a champion to advocate on their behalf.

“From affordable health care to regulatory relief and tax reform, there is significant work to be done in order to foster a pro-small business environment and spur the kind of economic growth that will facilitate our community’s competitiveness around the globe.

“We look forward to working with President-elect Trump’s nominee, Linda McMahon, to create a more equitable tax code for small businesses, a health care system that is more affordable, flexible and works for all types of American businesses, and the elimination of burdensome regulation clogging our country’s economic engine.

“We stand at the ready to work with the new leadership of the SBA to do all we can on behalf of our members and all hard-working small business and self-employed Americans throughout the country because when we succeed, America succeeds.”
