National Association for the Self-Employed Awards $24K in Small Business Growth Grants

Florida, Kentucky, Virginia, Texas, Pennsylvania Small Businesses Are Recipients of Grants to Help Expand and Grow Operations



DALLAS, TX – Six small businesses have been awarded a total of $24,000 in Growth Grants from the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation’s leading advocate and resource for the self-employed and micro-business community.  These small businesses were announced as first and second quarter 2018 Growth Grant recipients.  Throughout 2018, NASE will hand out a total of $48,000 in grants to small businesses from across the country.

“America’s small business and self-employed community is the lifeblood of our economy, helping fuel growth along Main Street in small and large communities throughout the country,” said John Hearrell, Vice President of Membership and Affiliate Programs.  “Since 1989, our mission has been finding the best ways to directly offer support to help these business continue to grow and thrive.  It’s an honor to make an investment of $4,000 in each of these six Growth Grant recipients during the first half of 2018, bringing our total grant awards to date to nearly $1,000,000 since the program’s inception.”

The recipients of the first-quarter 2018 NASE Growth Grants are:

Easypeasy.com is located in Hallendale Beach, Florida and is owned by NASE member Dorielle T. Price, PhD.  EasyPeasy Veggie Blends is a website that offers custom blends of all natural vegetable powders. Vegetable powders are simply vegetables which are thoroughly dried, then ground. Their blends are selected to be mild-flavored, while maximizing nutrition and minimizing “veggie taste”. You can find their products on a variety of online retail sites, like Amazon, Winter Garden Farmers Market, and Boca VIPediatrics, to name a few.

- Pediatric Speech Pathology is located in Louisville, Kentucky and is owned by NASE member J. Allen Bridgman.  Pediatric Speech Pathology is a clinic for children with speech disorders.

TheRackPacker.com is located in York, Pennsylvania and is owned by NASE member Keith Doyle.  The Rack Packer is a game hunting gear and strategy online retailer that offers hunters devices to manage their game and supplies for gaming.

The recipients of the second-quarter 2018 NASE Growth Grants are:

Cinnaholic in Dallas is located in Dallas, Texas and is owned by NASE member Elisa Tiffee, who is originally from Plano, TX.  Cinnaholic in Dallas is a bakery that offers a wide variety of pastries like cinnamon cakes, brownies, cookies and buns, all of which are 100% vegan.

Mayhem T-Shirt Printing is located in Delray Beach, Florida and is owned by NASE member Rose Jean.  Mayhem T-Shirt Printing is a custom t-shirt printing website, where styles, sizes, and colors of imprint shirts are available for customization or ready to buy as is. Mayhem T-Shirt Printing provides excellent t-shirt printing and vector art services at very reasonable and affordable prices.

Glo Custom Spray Tanning in located in Roanoke, Virginia and is owned by NASE member Amy Bourgeois. Glo Custom Spray Tanning offers in-salon tanning and salon appointments and mobile services in the local Roanoke area.

For nearly 20 years, NASE’s focus has been on finding the most effective way to bolster success for small business and self-employed members in communities across the country.  NASE has awarded nearly $1,000,000 since the program’s inception and continue to see significant return on our investments in the growth of member-businesses helping to fuel their local economies.

NASE’s Growth Grant program is intended for businesses planning to take the next step in their venture.  It provides available capital for small businesses and sole proprietors to be able to hire and train additional employees, market their business in new and existing ways or invest in new equipment or software.

Applications for the NASE’s 2018 Growth Grant program are currently being accepted from now through December 31st, 2018.  Applications are considered on a rolling basis throughout the year and winning small businesses will be awarded $4,000 grants monthly throughout 2018.  Visit the Growth Grant page for more information.
