$12K in Small Business Growth Grants Awarded by the National Association for the Self-Employed

Colorado, Ohio, & Oregon Small Businesses Receive Financial Support to Grow and Expand Business Operations

July 2020 $4,000 Growth Grant Sponsored by Dell Small Business

DALLAS, TX – Three small businesses have been awarded a total of $12,000 in Growth Grants from the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation’s leading advocate and resource for the self-employed and micro-business community.  These small businesses were announced as third quarter 2020 Growth Grant recipients.  July’s Growth Grant was generously sponsored by DELL Small Business.  Last year, NASE awarded $48,000 in grants to small businesses across the country and expects to do so again this year.

“Our nation’s small business community, including self-employed and micro-businesses, help fuel the economic engine of our national economy.  During this time of COVID-19 and the ensuing economic uncertainty, it is now more important than ever to support these American small businesses,” said John Hearrell, Vice President of Membership and Affiliate Programs.  “From each side of Main Street to every corner of America, small businesses are delivering unique goods and services to their customers. Since 1989, our mission is built on the cornerstone of supporting these businesses to grow and thrive.  It’s an honor to make an investment of $4,000 in each of these Growth Grant recipients, bringing our total grant awards to date to nearly $1,000,000 since the program’s inception.”

The recipients of the third quarter 2020 NASE Growth Grants are:
 - Radiant Design, LTD, located in Arvada, Colorado, owned by NASE member Evan Christensen, was awarded an NASE Growth Grant in August 2020. Creative Fish Design is a graphic design company that specializes in branding, web development, presentations and online marketing.
 - K9 Splash Zone, located in Brookville, Ohio, owned by NASE member Dr. Susan Fife, was awarded an NASE Growth Grant in September 2020. Dr. Susan Fife is a 1996 graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. K9 Splash Zone is a 14 acre fully fenced facility where dog’s can enhance their jumping and swimming, receive water therapy or just enjoy all the fun associated with being a dog!

The July 2020 Growth Grant was sponsored by DELL Small Business.
- Steps 2 Grow, LLC, located in Portland, Oregon, owned by NASE member Austen Lincoln, was awarded an NASE Growth Grant in July 2020. Austen is an expert in typical and atypical movement and motor development, specializing in children from birth to 5-year olds. Steps 2 Grow provides in-home occupational therapy, one-on-one virtual consults and online courses.

For nearly 20 years, NASE’s focus has been on finding the most effective way to bolster success for small business and self-employed members in communities across the country.  NASE has awarded nearly $1,000,000 since the program’s inception and continue to see significant return on our investments in the growth of member-businesses helping to fuel their local economies.

NASE’s Growth Grant program is intended for businesses planning to take the next step in their venture.  It provides available capital for small businesses and sole proprietors to be able to hire and train additional employees, market their business in new and existing ways or invest in new equipment or software.

Applications are considered on a rolling basis throughout the year and winning small businesses will be awarded $4,000 grants monthly throughout 2020.  Visit the Growth Grant page for more information.
