NASE Applauds America’s Small Businesses

Partners with Small Business Administration to Help Entrepreneurs Start, Grow and Succeed

WASHINGTON – With this week being National Small Business Week, the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE) – the nation’s leading resource for self-employed and micro-businesses – today applauds America’s 22 million smallest businesses for their contributions to our national and local economies. The Small Business Administration (SBA) is holding events around the country, of which the NASE is a co-sponsor, offering tips and tools for small businesses to start, grow and succeed.

“Representing over 75 percent of the small business community, the self-employed and micro-businesses across America are helping fuel their local and state economies” said Kristie Arslan, President and CEO of National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE).  “The NASE is proud to be a co-sponsor of SBA’s efforts to provide entrepreneurs the tools, tips and resources they need to succeed.”

Every year since 1963, the U.S. Small Business Administration takes the opportunity to highlight through National Small Business Week the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others from all 50 states and U.S. territories.  This year’s events will be held June 17-21, in Seattle, Dallas, St. Louis, Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. offering tips, tools and trainings for small businesses to start, succeed and grow.  In addition to in-person events, small business owners can participate in online-only panel discussions on hot topics like social media and business financing starting daily at 4pm ET. All events, in-person and online, will be streamed live on www.sba.gov/smallbusinessweek. Also visit this site for a full schedule of events and additional information. The event hashtag is #SBW2013.

The NASE recently launched its Small Business Locator, helping to connect customers with services they need that are provided by our nation’s small businesses. This online network allows our members and the public to locate, collaborate and engage with each other to foster their professional needs. This includes the NASE 2013 Member Council businesses, along with over 2,000 small, local businesses.  Find the services you need and select the category to search for a local business that matches your exact needs.  By supporting small business, help drive America's economy and its economic recovery.
