If I take the federal standard deductions, can I still take the mortgage interest and the property taxes off the form for home office use?

Tax - Apr 4, 2022

The easy answer is absolutely yes. You can indeed use the Home Office deduction even if you use the Standard Deduction instead of itemizing. From a practical standpoint, the Home Office Deduction comes first, and any amount that is utilized for that deduction related to mortgage interest and property taxes reduces the amount of those items that would be included on Schedule A, Itemized Deductions.
