National Association for the Self-Employed Encourages America to Shop, Invest and Support Local, Small Retailers This Holiday Season
WASHINGTON, DC – As Americans prepare to take advantage of today’s Black Friday deals, The National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation’s leading advocate and resource for the self-employed and micro-businesses, shines a light on America’s smallest businesses this Small Business Saturday. Supporting and investing in the small business community helps grow our local, regional and national economies.
“As millions of Americans hit the retailers today for Black Friday, it is important to remember that the small business community – including the smallest businesses, the self-employed and micro-businesses – is helping to strengthen not only our local economy, but our national economy as well,” said Katie Vlietstra, Director of Government Affairs for NASE. “Despite being the fuel of our economic recovery, the small business community continues to face burdensome tax regulations and mounting inequities from the new health care system – both that threaten their bottom-line. Supporting these small business owners means much more than just shopping on main street, but it also means supporting economic policies that will help them open, grow and expand.”
