National Association for the Self-Employed Vice President Available for Media Interviews Reacting to Congressional Action

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As the U.S. Congress begins initial legislative actions to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Katie Vlietstra, Vice President of Public Affairs and Government Relations for the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation's leading resource for the self-employed and micro-businesses is available to discuss how best Congress should move forward with the replace process the health care law.

“It is imperative that replace efforts move quickly to stabilize the health insurance market place so that the self-employed and micro-business community have access to affordable health care.

“Bottom line, an all-out repeal of the Affordable Care Act, without immediate short-term market stabilization policies, will cause chaos not just within the health care marketplace but within the US economy. The Administration and Congress can, and should, provide concrete and immediate action to alleviate the very real fear of millions of Americans that they will lose coverage and also, through action indicate how through regulation and legislation, they will create a health care system that provides expand choices for consumers, addresses issues of rising health care costs, and encourage competition, so that the self-employed and micro-business owners win.”

Vlietstra has been through two transition cycles and is well versed on how advocacy groups must recalibrate in anticipation of the Trump Administration and its proposed policies.

Vlietstra recently penned an Open Letter to the 115th Congress encouraging them to work with President Trump to bolster the economy
