In 2009, 48.9 million Americans provided unpaid care for an adult in their lives, reported a study conducted by the National Alliance for Caregiving and the AARP. Fifty percent of those caregivers also worked full time, trying to find time for doctors’ appointments and other tasks in schedules that were already packed.
