Darci E. McConnell, President of McConnell Communications is a publicist, crisis manager, entrepreneur, teacher, communicator and mentor.  Her firm, McConnell Communications, has served clients large and small, ranging from Fortune 500 firms such as Feld Entertainment and Northwest Airlines to local non-profits such as 100 Black Men of Greater Detroit and the Detroit Branch NAACP.

“We congratulate Darci McConnell on being selected as this month’s featured cover story in our nationalSelf-Informed magazine,” said John Hearrell, Vice President of Membership and Affiliate Programs.  “As the nation’s leading advocate for the self-employed and business with less than 10 employees, it is important for us to highlight members who are on the ground doing the hard work of realizing their dream of being an entrepreneur.”

As part of the magazine’s cover story, McConnell was asked, “what’s the best thing about self-employed?”

“The flexibility is great, but even better is being in a position to empower others, either by telling their stories to get others to act; by hiring them on as staffers or by enlisting them as contractors,” said Darci E. McConnell, President of McConnell Communications, a Detroit-based small business and this month’s National Association for the Self-Employed “Member Spotlight”
