Insight Garden located in Whiting, Indiana selected as the Featured Cover Story on NASE’s April “Self-Informed” Magazine

Mark Dominiak, founder and Principle Strategist of Insight Garden, started his business in 2004 with 30 years of experience in the communications industry.  His core area of expertise is founded in media and message context strategy. Mark has leveraged his deep media background to develop a unique strategist’s perspective of consumers and brands, helping clients solve challenging marketing problems in Marketing, Advertising, and Business Growth areas.

“We congratulate Mark Dominiak and Indiana’s Insight Garden on being selected as this month’s featured cover story in our national Self-Informed Magazine,” said John Hearrell, Vice President of Membership and Affiliate Programs.  “As the nation’s leading advocate for the self-employed and businesses with less than 10 employees, it is important for us to highlight members who are on the ground doing the hard work of realizing their dream of being an entrepreneur.”

In addition to his professional career and small business, Dominiak is also involved on pro bono and civic projects with municipalities, colleges and churches. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the Whiting-Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce.

As part of the magazine’s cover story, Dominiak was asked, “Why did you start your business (Insight Garden)”?

“I interviewed at many media companies, but also started to develop a business plan as another possible path.  That interview process opened my eyes quite a bit.  Everyone I interviewed with was so corporate and impersonal.  It really felt that another job at a large company was just a path to immersing into someone else’s culture and beliefs.  I decided not to go down that path and create a business that was definitely entrepreneurial and a real expression of who I was as a media professional and business person,” said Mark Dominiak, founder and Principle Strategist of Whiting, Indiana based, Insight Garden.

Dominiak was also asked, “What’s the most important piece of advice you would give to someone starting their own business”?

“I would say not to let the fear of uncertainty stop you from taking the chance,” Dominiak continued.

“Learning new things and conquering uncertainty is actually one of the most fulfilling benefits of becoming self-employed.  When you work for someone else for a long time, it is easy to fall into the trap of thinking their work paradigm is the way career life operates.  But there is a whole other world of new career and business acumen out there to experience.  All it takes is to boldly step forward to embrace the uncertainty and learn from it, not run from it.”
