The SoLa Look based in Boston, Mass. selected as the Featured Cover Story on NASE’s May “Self-Informed” Magazine

DALLAS, TX – Boston small business, The SoLa Look, a makeup line launched in 2013 based in Massachusetts but with an online reach around the country, has been selected as this month’s National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE) “Member Spotlight.”  The National Association for the Self-Employed is the nation’s leading advocate and resource for the self-employed and micro-business community.

David Temkin, The SoLa Look’s Founder and CEO, is the featured cover story on May’s NASE Self-Informed Magazine.  Temkin has been a local member of NASE since 2012.

David Temkin is the Founder & CEO of The SoLa Look, a makeup line launched in December 2013 that targets the growing Latina and Spanish- speaking population. David was born and raised in Boston, MA and graduated from Umass-Amherst with a BA in Business Administration. He went on to earn his MA from Emerson College in Media Arts.

Temkin launched The SoLa Look in 2013 after seeing a void in the makeup industry of a brand that specifically targeted, appealed and marketed to Latinas.  Although based in Boston, The SoLa Look is available online and provides a brand of makeup to a segment of the population throughout the entire country.

“We congratulate David Temkin and The SoLa Look on being selected as this month’s featured cover story in our national Self-Informed Magazine,” said John Hearrell, Vice President of Membership and Affiliate Programs.  “As the nation’s leading advocate for the self-employed and businesses with less than 10 employees, it is important for us to highlight members who are on the ground doing the hard work of realizing their dream of being an entrepreneur.”

As part of the magazine’s cover story, Temkin was asked a range of questions including, “How do you market your business (The SoLa Look)?”

“We have a presence on social media networks including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. We promote all of our current products, sales and news on these channels. They’re all great platforms where we can speak to our customers and potential customers. When we release a new product we also send out an email to everyone who signs up for our newsletter,” said David Temkin, Founder and CEO of The SoLa Look.  “Most importantly, we use influencers on YouTube and Instagram to promote our products. They have dedicated fan bases that we’re able to tap into for free.”
