Global Entrepreneurship Panel to Focus on Digital Tools Helping Fuel Historic Small Business Growth

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As the American small business community continues to grow and expand, the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation's leading advocate and resource for the self-employed and micro-business community, will participate in Entrepreneurship Exchange 2023 (EX23), hosted by the Small Business Roundtable, in London, UK on Thursday, March 16th.

Focusing on the global state of entrepreneurship, EX23 brings together small business leaders, entrepreneurs, and experts from across the globe to explore policy issues, industry trends, economic development, and the future of small business.

Keith Hall, the president and CEO of NASE, will lead a panel, “Digital Tools & Rules: Enabling the Environment for Small Business to Thrive,” exploring digital tools that have become a lifeline for small businesses, many developed during the COVID-19 pandemic to serve a critical need for businesses to move online to survive.

Hall is nationally recognized small business and tax expert sought by the media and other stakeholders for his expertise and insight. He recently shared his thoughts with Forbes about predictions about the small business community in 2023, while also sharing tax preparation advice with CBS News and in an guest piece with Inc.com.

“The growing small businesses community revolutionized the e-commerce system during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the digital transformation continues to fuel innovation across all small business sectors,” said Keith Hall, president and CEO of the National Association for the Self-Employed (NASE), the nation's leading advocate and resource for the self-employed and micro-business community. “The entrepreneurial spirit of the small business community has been brought into the digital age and it is imperative policies, practices, and regulatory requirements around the utilization of these tools support their continued growth.”

Digital tools have become a lifeline for small businesses, especially following the Covid-19 pandemic as many moved online to survive. Furthermore, digitization has been shown to level the playing field for minority and underserved entrepreneurs. This panel will focus on the progress small businesses have made in recent years digitizing, emerging trends, the benefits of going digital for small businesses, and key policies impacting small businesses digitization.

“As the leading small business association giving voice advocating for America’s smallest businesses, we are happy to represent a strong, growing and thriving demographic with our global counterparts while also sharing best practices and insights during Entrepreneurship Exchange 2023 in London,” concluded Keith Hall.

The Small Business Administration (SBA) recently released new Census Bureau Data showing a record-shattering pace of 10.5 million new small business applications over the last two years. During the Covid-19 pandemic, many small businesses, including members of the NASE, found new and innovative ways of conducting business. Through the use of digital tools, small businesses around the globe utilized advanced technologies helping them to flourish. Many of those digital tools are still used in daily business operations today.
