In support of National Small Business Week, the NASE, calls on the Senate to address continued challenges faced by budding entrepreneurs and established businesses in their quest for access to capital. The NASE supports S. 2231, The Credit Union Member Business Lending Bill, among other initiatives to stimulate the lending market specifically for the self-employed/small business community.

Q: Can you take Section 179 depreciation on used equipment? Where is this deduction explained in the IRS rules? I’ve been struggling through Publication 946 and can’t find any requirement that the equipment has to be new to qualify for the deduction.
