NASE Voices Concern on "BE HEARD in the Workplace Act"

NASE joined the The Coalition to Promote Independent Entrepreneurs to express concern with the provisions contained in section 301 of the Bringing an End to Harassment by Enhancing Accountability and Rejecting Discrimination in the Workplace Act or the BE HEARD in the Workplace Act, S. 3219 and H.R. 5994, that would expand the protections offered to an employee under specified federal nondiscrimination laws “in the same manner and to the same extent” to an independent contractor.

In February, the National Association for the Self-Employed announced its support of two pieces of legislation introduced in the Senate and one in the House.
